Sila National Park
Discover the wild, majestic plateau of the Italian Apennines.
The “Great Forest of Italy”
Far from the salt spray of the coast, the Sila Massif rises as a world of ancient pines, wolves, and crystal lakes. Often compared to the landscapes of Scandinavia or Scotland, Sila is a protected UNESCO Biosphere Reserve where time slows down to the pace of the seasons.
The Fallistro Giants
Walk among 350-year-old Laricio pines that reach 45 meters in height. A monumental woodland preserved by FAI.
The Sila Steam Train
Ride the “Vecchia Signora,” a 1920s locomotive crossing the highest railway roof in Italy at 1,400m altitude.
Lake Arvo & Lorica
Enjoy a private boat trip on the “Pearl of the Sila” or take the cable car up Monte Botte Donato for Alpine views.
A Taste of the Mountains
Sila is the home of the Sila Potato PGI and the legendary Porcini mushroom. Our tours include a stop at traditional “Agriturismi” to taste Caciocavallo Silano and hearty mountain soups cooked over an open fire.
